Brands Celebrate Diwali in a Preachy but Quirky Way!

Setting the tone for this festive season, many brands conceptualized innovative, quirky ways to bring about the message for their respective brands keeping in mind the central theme of Diwali. Here are the top six ads that made a lasting impression with their meaningful campaign:

1. Samsonite
The brand put the spotlight on the travel enablers like taxi or bus drivers, ticket collectors or flight hostesses across railway, roadway, airways, etc., urging everyone to take a moment to offer gratitude to them and wish them Happy Diwali as they miss their Diwali for our “#DiwaliKaSafar.”

2. Vodafone
Identifying the consumer’s behavior of forwarding messages. Vodafone launched a heart-warming campaign encouraging people to share #YourWordsNotForwards this festive season with a personalized greeting to their loved ones.

3. Cadbury Celebrations
The campaign #BadiFamilyBadiDiwali by Cadbury Celebrations throws lights on the joy of celebrating festivals with your family to create memories that will last a lifetime. It focuses on a wife and how she surprises her husband on Diwali night by inviting his big family to their home and celebrating Diwali together.

4. Bajaj Allianz Life
The brand’s ‘Stop Unboxing Fireworks’ highlights the issue of child labor in the firecracker industry and shows how there are thousands like Chintu who sacrifice their childhood to lit up the brightness in the festivities of those who buy crackers. The campaign comes with a plea for merrymakers to help such children achieve their life goal of having a normal childhood by taking a pledge to #StopUnboxingFireworks.

5. OYO Rooms, Dunzo & Durex
Brands also took to social media to add a touch of ‘spare a thought for the planet’ message to their posts and urging people to be kind to the planet, its pet and its people this Diwali.

6. Mobikwik, Zomato & Swiggy
The festive spirit of Diwali was also alive on social media as many brands left social media users in splits with their hilarious take on the good old sweet, the Soan Papdi, being passed on from one home to another.
