Alexa, the Voice-Assistant Can Now Help You Get a Job!

Jan 09, 2020

Yes, Alexa or Google Assistant can help you get a job too. On last Wednesday, McDonald’s announced 'Apply Thru,' an Alexa or Google Assistant skill that the company claims is a world’s first. It lets users use their own voice on any Alexa or Google Assistant-capable device to seek employment in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the U.K., with other countries to follow suit in the coming months. Apply Thru is merely the very first step in the application process. One can’t actually complete the application process using Alexa or Google Assistant. It will ask applicants for basic information including their name, job area of interest and location and all they’ll need to do is answer a few basic questions out loud. It also states what McDonald’s positions are available in an applicant’s area and then texts a link to an official application online. Once they have approved the information provided, the voice assistants will send the applicant a text with a link to complete the application process online.
After voice-assistant helping us getting jobs, giving us makeover-tips, we wonder what technology can do next?
